By default Kodi still resizes artwork to 1920x1080.

From v18, the 1920x1080 resolution limitation has been removed. Using the following code in your advancedsettings.xml will allow caching artwork at original size.

Of course modifying or creating this file is only the first step, and arguably the easiest. You now need to update your artwork from the resized to the original hires versions, and it's not as simple as a movie refresh because there's nothing technically wrong with the artwork you've got and kodi caches artwork locally so it just gets refreshed from those 1920x1080 in the Thumbnail folders. And if you manually change the artwork it'll take hours. The brute force approach is to delete the Thumbnails folder(s), for the more elegant method see below.

The command you want to use is to force recaching of all artwork, and if you have a lot of videos it can take a while.
