(Please read all of post as you can find good support & info)

* * Would recommend SHR1 or SHR2 with BTRFS * *

If possible test with spare drives & spare usb, this way you can revert back if your system is not compatible.

DSM 6.1
Bootloader v1.02b & DSM

Download the two files below Bootloader & DSM file.

( ALWAYS HAVE BACKUP'S OF YOUR DATA IN CASE YOU NEED TO WIPE AND REINSTALL )

Best way to upgrade is:
1, Create new v1.02b usb stick (Skip if using this Version)
2, Unplug old usb & plug in new v1.02b (while still running old dsm) (Skip if using this Version)
3, Go to Control Panel, then Update & Restore
4, Click manual Update
5, Browse to the file DSM_DS3615xs_6.1.3-15152.pat
6, Click ok (Make sure you have swapped the usb stick v1.02b)
7, System will reboot with new DSM 6.1.3

You can use either of the tools below to make the usb stick...

Virtual Manager Not working ? Try this...

In case any one have the issues with VMM, please follow the next steps:
1. ssh
2. sudo synoservice --stop pkgctl-Virtualization ;
3. delete Virtualization folder in my volume1/@appstore (you can use MC) ;
4. from Package Center, the repair worked like a charm .

To get SHR again on DSM 6+ you need to modify the Synology config :

Would recommand you read the guide at link below to make sure you understand how to use the Vi text editor !

Edit synoinfo.conf located in /etc.defaults/synoinfo.conf

1. Telnet or Putty your NAS IP

2. cd /etc.defaults/

3. sudo vi synoinfo.conf

comment out the line 294 with #
#supportraidgroup="yes"

then add below

support_syno_hybrid_raid="yes"

Reboot your NAS and create your volume with the SHR option.

:q Exit as long as there have been no changes
:wq Exit and save changes if any have been made
