How to install CarCar Launcher on Head Unit
On some Android Head Units, which are installed as a replacement for stock ones or pre-installed by the car manufacturer, for example, Teyes, Topway TS10 and others, there is a problem with installing the launcher. Examples of errors are "Syntax error. Error while parsing packages" or "Application not installed". For CarPlay-boxes, this instruction is also applicable if you experience difficulties installing the launcher on your device, not related to the OS version not supported by the launcher – at the time of writing, we support only Android 10-13.
All further actions are performed by you at your own risk, we are not responsible for possible software failures and non-working devices.
The only important requirement for installation is the presence of root rights on the device. Obtaining methods vary from vendor to vendor and from one OS version to another, so look for instructions for your device on 4PDA, XDA Developers or other resources. You can check the root status, for example, using Root Checker.
All manipulations are carried out in the Lucky Patcher application.
- Install Lucky Patcher from developer's official website. It is recommended to download the installer file (button on the site "DOWNLOAD LP INSTALLER"), not the downloader. Ignore the warning about unsafe software, click "Install anyway". On first time launch, LP may ask you to download and install updates and modules – install them.
- Find and tap "Toolbox" tab on the bottom.
3. In the list of options find and tap "Android Patches".
4. In the menu that opens, press the "START TEST FOR PATCH" button. After the test is completed, a pop-up window with the results will appear. There might be some errors - it's ok, just ignore them and tap "Close". Next, the "Ability to apply the patch is unlocked" window will open – close it.
5. Check the box next to "Disable signature verification in package manager", at the bottom uncheck "Patch only dalvik-cache", then on the bottom tap "Patch" and then "Reboot".
After a reboot, signature verification will be disabled. You can verify it by downloading the latest version of the launcher from Telegram channel.
